"Practice yoga, and all is coming” ~ Pattabhi Jois.
Namaste to everyone reading. We at Tattvaa Yogashala offer a variety of opportunities for students to come and grow their training level and grip themselves in their practice with the 100-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in India. This course focuses on the fundamentals of the Ashtanga primary series.
The primary series of Ashtanga yoga is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, as the cleansing and toning effect on both body and mind. On a physical level, the primary series's ashtanga yoga asanas (poses) create strength and flexibility, relaxing tense muscles and realigning the body and nervous system. During the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga course, the series will begin with forward bends; then it comes to twists and at last hip openers breaking with a vinyasa between each asana.
On a cognitive level, through routine practice, concentration, willpower, mind-body awareness, and confidence are improved as we overpower the mental hindrances. Finally, on a low key, the primary series therapeutically clears the snags in the body's energy channels (known as Nadis). This clearing of obstacles allows the Prana (breath of life) to flow more freely, so the synchronization of body and mind can work more effectively.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga comprises six series (Primary, Intermediate, and four Advanced Series), each with a set order of Ashtanga yoga postures. Each of the six series starts with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations), five of the A variation, and five of the B variation, heeded by the standing sequence. All the sequences end with the exact finishing sequence. Only the mid-section has different yoga asanas and focuses depending on the string. Traditionally the postures are always practised in a specific order and are taught in a Mysore style, with the teacher providing the practitioner with a new pose when they feel they are ready.
It is ideal for those with limited time, focused primarily on deepening their practice without necessarily the intention to teach, or for an intensive retreat to accelerate their yoga journey. With our 100-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in India, yoga learners can revive their journey and add extra hours to their existing certificates.
The course breaks down the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga in detail, covering the physics and energetics of each yoga asana, the principles behind the Ashtanga sequence of asanas, and an in-depth study of each asana and transition. This series is not just the access to ashtanga yoga; it is the bedrock. The series promotes a sound basis and balance of flexibility and strength. It is cultivated along other lines than we may be familiar with in its prime methodology. Every individual aims differently when it comes to moving their body. The approach to the series of asanas should also be based on that. The endeavour is much more internally oriented regarding Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
Ashtanga Yoga has several benefits for the body, mind and spirit:
Our 100-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in India covers modifications, common alignment issues, methods, and tips to improve general practice. Indeed, this is the foundation of all the other Ashtanga yoga postures and works as a foundation for beginners. Important topics taught during the primary series study include the Vinyasa system of breath coordinated with movement, the practice of Bandhas (energy locks), and Drishti (gazing points of concentration).
Attention to detail and precision ensures that students progress quickly in developing their Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga practice, bringing health and balance to the body and the mind. The 100-hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in India approaches Yoga holistically, including the study and practice of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Philosophy lectures, and Yoga Nidra.
