Greetings to all! At Tattvaa Yogashala, we provide a range of opportunities for students to enhance their training and deepen their practice with our 100 hour Ashtanga yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India. This course focuses on the fundamentals of the Ashtanga primary series, making it perfect for those with limited time who want to intensify their yoga journey.
The primary series of Ashtanga yoga is also known as Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, because of its cleansing and toning effect on the body and mind. Physically, the primary series of asanas create strength and flexibility, release tense muscles, and realign the body and nervous system. The Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga course starts with forward bends, moves on to twists, and ends with hip openers, with a vinyasa between each asana.
On a cognitive level, routine practice improves concentration, willpower, mind-body awareness, and confidence as we overcome mental obstacles. And on a subtle level, the primary series clears energy channels in the body known as Nadis, allowing Prana (breath of life) to flow more freely, so the synchronization of body and mind can work more effectively.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga comprises six series, each with a set order of Ashtanga yoga postures. The primary series is the foundation and promotes a balance of flexibility and strength.
