At Tattvaa Yogashala in Rishikesh, India, the prerequisites for a 300-hour yoga teacher training program include the following:

Our 300-hour YTTC in Nepal covers a variety of topics, including advanced asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, teaching methodology, and mantra chanting.

For RYT-200 holders choosing where to do their advanced 300-hour training, Nepal offers something genuinely unique: advanced pranayama practice at altitude with the Annapurna massif on the horizon. Pokhara sits at around 800 metres, which is enough to make breath retention work measurably harder and your pranayama capacity is rebuilt at a different baseline. The Himalayan view from the asana mat is not a brochure flourish - it is a daily anchor for the inner stillness the 300-hour syllabus is trying to develop.
The 300-hour philosophy modules lean harder into the cross-tradition study that defines Nepal. Roughly 80 percent of the country is Hindu and 9 percent Buddhist with a strong Tibetan refugee community, so the advanced philosophy block pairs Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita with Vajrayana Buddhist meditation, mahamudra, and the chakra systems as understood in Tibetan tantra. Pashupatinath in Kathmandu, one of the holiest Shiva temples in the world, anchors the Hindu side; the monasteries above Pokhara anchor the Buddhist side.
Many of our 300-hour students extend the course with trekking - Annapurna Base Camp or Poon Hill on the back end. The body that walks into the intermediate Mysore room having just hiked at altitude is a noticeably different body from the one that walked into a 200-hour two years earlier. Sarangkot sunrise, the World Peace Pagoda, and Phewa Lake fill the rest days.
Mountain temperate, 15-28 degrees C Oct-May; cold winters.
Pokhara overlooking Annapurna massif & Phewa Lake.
Tibetan Buddhist + Hindu blended traditions; Vajrayana & Pashupatinath.
Sarangkot sunrise, World Peace Pagoda, Phewa Lake trips.
Airports, ground transport, visa logistics and local mobility for your YTT in the Himalayas of Nepal.
Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu is Nepal's primary international gateway. Direct flights connect Kathmandu to Delhi, Doha, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, and Istanbul. From Kathmandu, our Pokhara-area campus is a 25-minute domestic flight to Pokhara International (PKR), or a 6–7-hour scenic drive.
Visa on arrival is available at KTM for most nationalities (USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, USD 125 for 90 days), payable in cash USD, GBP, EUR, or AUD only.
From Pokhara Airport (PKR), our campus is a 20-minute taxi (~NPR 800 / USD 6). From Kathmandu, options are: domestic flight (USD 80–120 one-way), Greenline tourist bus (USD 25, 7 hours), or private taxi (USD 150–180, 6 hours).
Local transport in Pokhara: rickshaws and walking suffice for most of Lakeside. Scooter rental costs NPR 800/day; helmet mandatory. There is no Uber/Ola — use local taxi unions or InDrive ride-hail.
Pre-arranged pickup from Pokhara Airport (PKR) costs NPR 800 (~USD 6). From Kathmandu (KTM), we can arrange a domestic-flight booking + Pokhara-side pickup combined for USD 95. Confirm at least 72 hours before arrival by emailing flight details to [email protected].
Pokhara's optimal season is October to early December and March to May — clear Annapurna views, comfortable 15–28°C days. Monsoon (June–September) brings cloud cover that often hides the mountains; winter (December–February) is cold (5–15°C) and some lodgings lack heating. Nepal Standard Time runs UTC+5:45 — a unique 15-minute offset from Indian time.

Joined the 300-hour Nepal cohort after my Goa 200-hour two years earlier. Same Tattvaa lineage, different feel - the Himalayan setting brings a stillness the coast doesn't. The Annapurna sunrise hike on our mid-course break stays with me.
Practising advanced asana with the Annapurna range visible from the shala is something Rishikesh can't offer. The 300-hour here added Vajrayana Buddhist meditation modules I'd never seen in Indian schools. Yogi Kamal flew in from Rishikesh to lead our final week - the lineage continuity is genuine.
Came back to Tattvaa for the 300-hour after my 200-hour here last year. Doing advanced pranayama at Pokhara's altitude rebuilt my breath capacity at a different baseline. The cross-tradition Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist philosophy block was the highlight, again.
At Tattvaa Yogashala, all the yoga teachers are highly experienced and extremely proficient in their field of study.
